The Jennings County Economic Development Commission is looking to fill the role of Office Manager. Here is the official job posting:

Position: Office Manager

Reports To: Executive Director

Salary: Commensurate with experience & education

Type/Hours: Hourly, flexible up to 20-25 hrs/week.

Position Summary:

The JCEDC Office Manager manages the general operations of the office under the direction of the
Executive Director to ensure maximum productivity and efficiency is sustained. Duties include answering
incoming calls, welcoming visitors, working with JCEDC board members and partners to schedule
meetings and distribute general communications, purchasing office supplies, providing financial and
grant administrative services, and providing general administrative support to other office members.
This position is responsible for maintaining the EDC website and social media accounts, as well as
developing and distributing a bi-monthly newsletter.

Specific Duties:

Administrative Support for Office & Executive Director

 Prepare letters, memos, reports
 Schedule and arrange meetings, as requested
 Prepare for meetings, including set-up and refreshments
 Maintain office and financial files
 Answer incoming office calls
 Prepare mailings
 Office supply purchasing & maintenance
 Prepare and submit press releases, advertisements, etc.
 Prepare board meeting packets
 Record board meeting minutes
 Collect mail on a daily basis
 Prepare annual meeting packet

Financial Duties:

 Prepare payroll for approval by Executive Director
 Prepare all claims for approval by Executive Director
 Prepare bill payments for approval by Executive Director
 Submit monthly, quarterly and annual tax forms, as required
 Financial reconciliation

Grant Oversight & Reporting Duties:

 Communicate with Disaster Relief & Assistance grant recipients at least twice per year for
specific information
 Submit reports to the State of Indiana in a timely manner with information requested on local
COVID-19 Response Program grant recipients (Rounds 2 & 3).

Marketing & Media Duties:

 Maintain organization’s website pages as needed
 Monitor and maintain JCEDC social media platforms with appropriate content
 Create and distribute bi-monthly e-newsletter to JCEDC partners


 High School diploma required
 Prior office work experience preferred, but not required
 Excellent computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office, Excel, Outlook, and
 Ability to learn effective use of Quickbooks accounting software
 Display appropriate attention to detail to effectively maintain office records and
 Professional demeanor and ability to work efficiently and effectively while multi-tasking and
under deadline pressure
 Ability to work well and maintain positive communication with the public, EDC partners, and
government officials and offices
 Frequently works independently and must display good judgement and maintain required
 Basic understanding of data analysis and survey development
 Reliable personal transportation
